VSA
arts (formerly Very Special Arts) began as an international organization
dedicated to enriching the lives of children, youth, and adults with disabilities. It was
founded in 1974 as an educational affiliate of the John F. Kennedy Center for for the
Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Guided by VSA arts
National, VSA arts affiliates create opportunities for disabled and non-disabled
students and adults to celebrate and share accomplishments in drama, dance, music,
literature, and the visual arts.
